Aviation

It was a pretty busy day yesterday with new constructions starting at my boyfriend's place (where I am staying), his sister Laura returning home from a month in England and a whole lot of goodies arriving in the mail! Most notably I received this talon cuff (pamela love knockoff) for only 4 english pounds! Bargain. I've also since found it on another Ebay seller's listing for only 1.95 pounds, which is even better.

This is a super old jacket my mum got from an op-shop in Coffs Harbour some time ago. I kinda love the mismatched leathers look although it's probably not something I'd just pop down to the shops in.

Fur and Flares

Feeling a bit of a punk meets 70's hippy vibe today. Not exactly sure that it works but I definitely think I deserve points for creativity and ingenuity? non?
These pants are very old and to be honest I am not exactly sure why I am still holding onto them. I think they are so very cool in all their bell-bottomed laciness, but unfortunately the overwhelming impracticality of pants that provide no more protection/coverage/warmth than a pair of bike shorts has meant they have literally never been worn. I'm going to give them one last shot this coming spring and hopefully I can work out some good ways to normalise them for everyday wear, however I remain dubious.

Whilst cleaning out my boxes I also rediscovered this (far more practical) black onyx ring from India which was given to me by my ex's mother as an 18th present a few years ago. It was my favourite ring for close to 2 years and after a disappearance it has found it's way back into my wardrobe. I have almost rounded up all of my belongings and clothes from every far flung corner of the earth, however that also means it is time for another cull to reclaim some much needed wardrobe space. So for any of you lovely ladies living in sydney, expect to see me at market stall near you sometime in the coming months!

Spent a lovely morning having brunch at a cafe in Botany and relaxing in the sun before I start back at uni again next week (to finish the second semester of my first year) after taking an entire year off!

Hopefully being a full time student, model and part-time barmaid won't affect my blogging abilities but please be patient with me over the next month or so as I readjust to my new routine.

On the Fringe

My passion for all things tasselled has been reignited in recent years, thanks to the likes of Isabel Marant and co. First it was a black bag with fringing, then came the various capes and cardigans sporting tasselled ends and now for the newest addition to my collection, these awesome (or so I think) suede, fringed, Isabel Marant inspired beauties for a mere $69.

Although Ben thinks they are revolting not palatable to all, these boots are my newest favourite item and I can literally think of thousands of ways I would like to wear them.
However, with this being said, I have decided they do require a bit of styling (they aren't something you can just throw on.) I learnt this the hard way last week after I went to a casting looking like an oversized nepalese sherpa-cum-cowboy-cum-wooly mammoth...I won't go into details, but it was unique to say the least.

Winter Blues

What with the weather being an absolute misery, I am desperate for the beautiful florals and sheer flowing fabrics that spring will inevitably bring.

Any suggestions for ridding myself of the winter blues?

Monochrome

I had a bit of an urge for all-white today, which is rather unusual as I am more of a black and navy girl.

There is something so ethereal and magical about white on white looks. They are particularly effortless looking, which I guess is rather ironic, considering the amount of time and effort required to keep white garments in pristine condition.

Last week I received a highly anticipated delivery from Beauty Bay
I've been in desperate need of a new scent ever since my 'Valentina' by Valentino ran out months ago. I generally prefer more masculine simple fragrances and have been known to steal a spritz or two of Ben's  'Big Pony Blue 1' by Ralph Lauren which just smells amazing. In light of my masculine scent preferences I decided to give the unisex CK one fragrance a go and I have to say it has grown on me very quickly. I originally thought it smelt a little too strong but it blends nicely to leave a refreshing citrusy scent that lingers for ages.

I also purchased the YSL 'Touche Eclat' which is also a new favourite of mine for concealing and highlighting under the eyes, across the cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

If you wanted to try out either of these, I have found that beauty bay has great prices for both and free worldwide shipping, score!
